Teams Place 4th At Doug Coors Invitational

Paced by Ailsa Hershaw's new school record, the UF men's and women's teams each finished fourth at the Doug Coors Invitational at Ball State University on Friday and Saturday.

Hershaw was clocked at 4:39.01 for the new UF mark while finishing third during the finals of the 400-yard IM. The Findlay 'A' relay team placed third in the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:59.27), and fourth in the 200-yard medley relay (1:54.34), the 400-yard medley relay (4:08.58) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:43.88).

David Conti led the men with an eighth-place finish in the 400-yard IM (4:38.59), and added a 14th-place in the 200-yard IM (2:09.23) and a 15th in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:25.31). John Bogart was 15th in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.29).

Nikki Schnell-McCoy was fouth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.36), followed by Emily Thomas in tenth-place (1:02.48). Mallory Ament placed eighth in the 1650-yard freestyle (18:30.90) and added a 12th in the 500-yard freestyle (5:20.54). Tanya Tikhonova finished 11th in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.16).

Ball State finished first on the women's side, while Grand Valley's men claimed first-place.
