Oilers Sweep Storm
The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams defeated Lake Erie College on Saturday, October 22 in Sink Natatorium. The men's team won 119-87 while the women scored a 101-31 victory.
Combined, the Oilers won 15 events against the Storm during their victory.
On the men's side, Dylan Webb won both the 1-meter (228.53) and 3-meter (201.33) dives while several others had their hands in victories for the Oilers.
The Oilers 200-yard medley relay team of David Conti, Tim Andersson-Lind, Aidon Dorman and Tyler Billeg were victorious with a time of 1:45.06 while the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Colton Brauning, David Vittori, Ryan Randall and Dorman placed first at 1:34.73.
Vittori added a win in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:20.60), Brauning won the 50-yard freestyle (22.70) and Andersson-Lind crossed the line first in the 100-yard butterfly (53.05).
On the women's side, the Oilers 200-yard medley relay team of Emily Thomas, Jillian Herbst, Annie Currin and Emily Green won their event with a time of 2:01.94.
Molly Cade added victories in the 50-yard freestyle (25.73) and 100-yard butterfly (59.38) while Currin crossed the line in first place during the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.07.
In addition, Kate Fisher won the 1000-yard freestyle (11:10.80), Tanya Tikhonova was first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.04), Ailsa Hershaw won the 200-yard IM (2:15.13) and Maddie Bell was the top placer in the 1-meter dive (209.48).
The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow at the Clarion Diving Invitational.
