Oilers Take 4th at Doug Coers Invitational

The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed the second day of Ball State's Doug Coers Invitational on Saturday, November 19 in Muncie, Indiana where both teams finished in fourth place.

The men were led by David Soutoul, who place second in th 200-yard breaststroke with a school record breaking time of 2:12.04 also took fourth in the 200-yard backstroke at 1:58.78.

Colton Sayers grabbed a sixth place spot in the 200-yard butterfly at 2:02.21 and eighth in the 100-yard butterfly at 56.69. Freshman Colton Brauning placed ninth in the 100-yard backstroke at 58.79 and the 100-yard freestyle at 50.97.

Molly Cade paced the Findlay women with a fifth place finish in the 200-yard butterfly at 2:10.99 and seventh in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.44. Annie Currin added a fifth place finish for the Oilers with a time of 1:59.64 in the 200-yard freestyle.

Junior Tanya Tikhonova placed eighth in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:13.39 while Emily Thomas took eighth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.46.

In team competition, the men and women both placed fourth with 187 points and 185 points, respectively.

The Oilers will be back in action on Friday, December 2 when Findlay travels to Eastern Michigan University at 4 p.m.
