The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed their first meet of the year on Friday, Oct. 12 against Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio.  The men fell 182-56 while the women were edged 154-137.

Diego Santos was the Oilers lone winner on the men's side as he finished first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:01.27.

Molly Cade and Maddie Bell each won a pair of events to lead the women's team against Ashland.

Cade won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.83 and was also victorious in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:09.02.

Bell won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.  She won the 1-meter with 209.50 points and claimed the top place in the 3-meter dive at 199.25.

Annie Currin also captured a first place finish as she won the 500-yard freestyle after crossing the line in 5:18.13.

The Oilers will be back in the pool again on Oct. 21 at the Clarion Diving Invitational.
