Oilers Place Third At Doug Coers Invitational

The University of Findlay swimming and diving teams finished day two of the Doug Coers Inivitational in Muncie, Indiana. Both men and women's teams captured third place. The men had 219.5 points and the women ended the meet with 385 points.

Molly Cade paced the Oilers with two second place finishes. Cade was clocked in at 58.41 in the 100 fly and 2:09.07 in the 200 fly. Cade, along with Annie Currin, Ailsa Hershaw, and Tanya Tikhonova finished third in the 400 free relay (3:44.30).

Currin snatched bronze in the 1650 free with a time of 18:22.33. Kate Fisher (4:51.71) and Hershaw (4:51.89) took third and fourth, respectively, in the 400 IM.

Jillian Herbst added a fourth place for Findlay in the 100 fly (1:01.67). Emily Thomas finished fourth in the 100 free with a time of 55.49.

The women's 'A' team (Hershaw, Cade, Currin and Thomas) took third in the 800 free relay, crossing the finish line at 8:06.83.

On the men's side, Diego Santos tied for second in the 100 back (54.79). In addition, Santos snagged third in the 200 back with a time of 1:57.94. Teammate Colton Sayers took third in the 200 fly (2:01.06).

Santos and Sayers, along with David Conti and Garrett Gardner, added another bronze victory in the 800 free relay, clocking in at 7:45.38. The 400 free relay, consisting of Santos, Gardner, Tim Andersson-Lind and Jay Clinger, also placed third with a time of 3:30.51.

The Oilers will return to the pool on Friday, November 30, as the men and women's swim teams head to Ypsilanti, Michigan, to compete in the Eastern Michigan Inviational. Meanwhile, the women's diving team will travel to Kenyon College for the Total Performance Invitational.
