Oilers Fall to Wayne State

The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed their meet against nationally ranked Wayne State University on Friday, January 17 at Sink Natatorium.  The women lost 168-121 while the men fell 174-87. 

On the women's side, the relay of Ailsa Hershaw, Emily Annen, Hannah Schreiber and Annie Currin took first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:45.61.  Currin also won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:55.80. 

Molly Cade took first place in the 100-yard butterfly (57.65) while Jessica Ward took first place in the 50-yard backstroke (27.81).  Kaley Holmstrom won the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 1:03.33. 

Ashleigh Weddington took second place (243.65) and third place (247.25) on the one meter dive. 

On the men's side, the relay of Clay Fogle, Ian Kochheiser, Garrett Gardner and Nick Kaftan took first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:32.01. 

Todo Djurovic claimed victory in two events, winning the 50-yard breaststroke (27.78) and the 100-yard individual medley (55.15). 

Colton Sayers won the 500-yard freestyle (5:02.34) while Aaron Mitchell won the 50-yard butterfly (24.88). 

The Oilers return to the pool tomorrow when they face Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio at 1 p.m.
