Women's Tennis Completes Day 1 of ITA

The University of Findlay women's tennis team completed the first day of competition at the ITA Regional on Friday, Sept. 27 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Nina Djordjevic went 1-1 in A singles competition, scoring a 6-0, 6-0 win over Ashland's Andrea Ruiz before falling 6-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-4) to Grand Valley State's Kali Phillips.

The Oilers doubles team of Djordjevic and Tijana Raicevic dropped a 9-8 decision to Rockhurst's Taylor Redding and Emma Schlelble while the team of Matina Matic and Viktoriya Shkola lost 8-5 to Taylor Ekert and Allie Smith of Indianapolis.

In singles competition, Raicevic lost 6-2, 6-2 to Schlelble while Matic and Shkola also dropped matches.

Matic fell 6-1, 6-2 to Michigan Tech's Natalia Lebedeva while Shkola was defeated by the score of 6-1, 6-0 by Drury's Hadeil Ali.
