Oilers Conclude Indoor Championship

The University of Findlay men and women's indoor track and field teams completed the 2013 Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday, March 9 in Birmingham, Ala.

Taylor Miller placed third in the men's shot put with a heave of 59'02.00 to earn All-American honors, while Marcus Vicars took sixth with a mark of 56'03.75, also earning All-American honors.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Michael Travis, Tim Sanders, Darren Johnson and Dillon Webster took seventh with a time of 3:14.00, finishing with All-American honors in the process.

Corey Shank also earned All-American honors after taking seventh in the pole vault.

As a team, the men finished in 15th place with 13 total points while the women finished in 18th with 12 points.

In other action for the Oilers outdoor team, Derrick Vicars was in mid-season form in the Southern Invitation, also in Birmingham, Ala.

Vicars won the shot put with an NCAA automatic qualifying, school record heave of 19.44m, and won the hammer throw with an NCAA automatic qualifying toss of 193'11.
