Oilers Complete Wake Forest Open

The University of Findlay men and women's outdoor track and field team completed day two of the Wake Forest Open on Saturday, March 16th in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Derrick Vicars tied his own school record with his first place, NCAA provisional qualifying toss of 181'07 in the discus. Marcus Vicars and Taylor Miller took fifth and eighth in the same event with marks of 155'09 and 150'00, respectively, while Glen Forsythe took ninth in the long jump with a mark of 21'11.50.

In men's running events, the 4x400-meter relay team of John Guagenti, Tim Sanders, Darren Johnson and Dillon Webster took second with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 3:10.85. Sanders also took fifth in the 800-meter run with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 52.91, while Guagenti took seventh in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.58, and Webster took fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.20.

Justin Eilerman placed second in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:42.30.

 On the women's side, Christine Zimmermann took seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:16.50, while Pam Showman finished ninth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.68.

The track team will be back in action on March 30th for the Toledo Collegiate Challenge.
