Oilers Complete Day One Of Miami Invitational
The University of Findlay men and women's track and field team completed day one of the Miami Invitational on Friday, April 5 in Oxford, Ohio.
Jessica Rowland had a monster day for Findlay, placing first in the hammer throw with a school record, NCAA automatic qualifying toss of 201'04. That distance is also the new event best in NCAA division II.
Anna Knapski placed eighth in the same event with a mark of 151'06, while Kendra Averesch took 10th with a distance of 150'05. Alexa Stults took 11th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:14.72.
In the men's hammer throw, Derrick Vicars placed first with an NCAA provisional qualifying distance of 199'10, while Taylor Miller took fourth with a mark of 175'08, and Marcus Vicars took seventh with a toss of 168'11.
The Miami Invite will conclude tomorrow.
