Oilers Track Holds Steady in National Rankings

The University of Findlay men's and women's outdoor track and field teams are both ranked nationally this week as the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released their NCAA Division II polls on Tuesday, April 9.

The men's team is ranked fourth in the nation while the women are currently ranked 18th.

Individually, Derrick Vicars has the top mark nationally in the shot put (19.44m) and has the second best hammer throw (66.04m).  He is also ranked third nationally in the discus (55.36m).

John Guagenti has the fourth best time in the 400 (46.34), Taylor Miller has the third best mark in the shot put (18.24m) with Darren Bass ranked fourth in the same event (17.63m).

Jessica Rowland has led the women and has the top mark in the nation in the hammer throw (61.49m).  She is also ranked ninth in the discus (48.84m).

Kendra Averesch is ranked eighth in the shot put (14.75m) as well
