Blackley Headed for NCAA DII Hall of Fame

Former track standout Kirby Blackley will be inducted into the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II Hall of Fame  in a ceremony on May 22 in Pueblo, Colo.

Blackley, a Cincinnati, Ohio, native, claimed outdoor NCAA Division II individual titles in both the 100 hurdles and the long jump in 2008 en route to USTFCCCA Division II Athlete of the Year honors. During her time at Findlay she earned 10 USTFCCCA All-America honors in the hurdles, the long jump and the 4×400 to go along with 14 GLIAC titles. A three-time Findlay Female Athlete of the Year honoree, she still holds both the indoor and outdoor long jump school record, in addition to the 55 hurdles and 4×100 relay records.

The former standout also captured the prestigious NCAA Top VIII Award as a senior, which is only given to eight student-athletes across all divisions based on athletic ability and achievement, academic achievement and character, leadership and extra-curricular activity involvement.

Following her collegiate career she went on to qualify for the USA Indoor Championships in the 60 hurdles in 2008, 2009 and 2010, and in the pentathlon in 2009 and 2010. She is now the associate head women's coach at Wayne State University in Michigan.
