Oilers Complete Hillsdale Classic

The University of Findlay men and women's outdoor track and field teams completed the Hillsdale Classic on May 8 in Hillsdale, Mich.

Pam Showman led the women's team by placing first in the heptathlon with a school record breaking point total of 4952, which was also a NCAA provisional qualifying total.

Lydia Guagenti took second in the event with a NCAA provisional mark of 4510 and also had a provisional mark in the high jump portion of the event at 5'07.25.

Maud Sanmiquel took first place in the 400-meter hurdles with a NCAA provisional time of 1:01.21 and teamed with Kadesha Roberts, Adrianna Powell-Lawrence and Shelby Stump to take third in the 4x400-meter relay at 3:47.85. The time in the relay race was also a provisional mark.

Erika King finished fourth in the hammer throw with a provisional toss of 174'08 while Alex DeVincentis was fifth in the discus with provisional toss of 151'00.

On the men's side, Demorrio Leggett won the triple jump with a provisional mark of 48'10.25 while Ben Hahler was second in both the shot put and discus.  He scored a provisional mark of 54'01 in the shot put and threw 160'06 in the discus.

Marcus Vicars had a provisional mark in the hammer throw by taking third at 182'10 while Alexander Zolotoglavyy was third in the long jump at 23'04.00 and Parker Schroeder was third in the discus at 157'00.     

The Oilers will be back in action at the Toledo Invitational tomorrow in Toledo, Ohio.
