Oiler Track Teams Ranked in National Polls

Both the UF men and women's outdoor track and field teams will enter the 2014 NCAA Division II National Championship as ranked teams after showing up in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll on May 19.

The men will enter the championship event ranked 13th in the nation while the women are heading to nationals as the 22nd ranked squad.

The men's team will send five individuals to the national championship, which is scheduled to take place on May 22-24 in Allendale, Mich., and will be led by junior Justin Welch, who is the top-ranked thrower in the hammer.  He will also compete in the discus for the Oilers too.

Senior Dillon Webster (800m), freshman Alexander Zolotoglavyy (long jump), junior Demorrio Leggett (triple jump) and freshman Ben Hahler (shot put) will also represent Findlay at the championship meet.

The women's team meanwhile will send seven competitors to the championship.

Junior Kendra Averesch (shot put), freshman Alex DeVincentis (discus), sophomore Samantha Grippe (800m), senior Pam Showman (heptathlon), sophomore Lydia Guagenti (high jump), freshman Erica King and junior Maud Sanmiquel (400m hurdles) will take part in the event.
