Volleyball drops match to Ferris 3-1

The women's volleyball team's home skid continued on Sunday with a 3-1 loss to Ferris State. Findlay has lost three straight on their home court.

Both teams hit well in set one, with Findlay posting a .393 clip and Ferris hitting .259 en route to a 25-18 Oiler victory. The momentum didn't carry into the second set, though, as Ferris jumped out early and cruised to a 25-16 win to even the match at one set apiece.

Set three was a battle, with both teams winning crucial stretches of points before Ferris closed it out 25-22. The Bulldogs closed out the match in set three with a 25-17 win.

The Oilers record stands at 7-6 (3-4 GLIAC) while Ferris improves to 7-5 (4-4 GLIAC).

The Bulldogs offense was paced by Arielle Goodson with 19 kills in 30 attempts and Ashley Huntey with 14 kills. Libero Lisa Tobiczyk dug 19 balls for Ferris.

Findlay got good production from outside hitters Bethany Hoelscher and Abby LaVigne, both of whom hit 11 kills. Libero Rachael Hammond had 10 digs.

Findlay continues its homestand next weekend with a Friday match against GLIAC south foe Wayne State and a Sunday matchup against Hillsdale.
