Oilers Sweep St. Joe's, Quincy

The University of Findlay volleyball team swept both Saint Joseph's College (25-19, 25-19, 25-19) and Quincy University (25-20, 25-17, 25-22) on Saturday, October 16 in Aurora, Illinois at the GLIAC-GLVC Challenge. The wins evened the Oilers record at 10-10 on the season.

In the win over the Pumas, Jessica VonIns led the team with 10 kills while Abby LaVigne tallied nine.

VonIns also led the team with 17 assists while LaVigne chipped in a team-high 12 digs.

Megan Florence added 13 assists, Rachael Hammond contributed 12 digs and Sarah Schroeder registered 11 digs in the win.

In the win over the Hawks, Bethany Hoelscher had seven kills while LaVigne and VonIns each tallied six.

Florence registered 17 assists, VonIns chipped in 13 assists and Hammond recorded a team-high 11 digs.

Danielle Taflinger added five kills and seven blocks in the victory as well.

The Oilers will be back in action again on October 20 when they travel to Hillsdale, Michigan to take on Hillsdale College at 7 pm.
