Eagles Hold Off Oilers In 4 Sets

The University of Findlay volleyball team fell 3-1 (22-25, 25-19, 24-26, 28-30) to Ashland University on Friday, October 29 in Ashland, Ohio. The loss gives the Oilers an 11-13 record on the season with a 5-10 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers had three players reach double digits in the kill department as Jessica VonIns led the way with 14 while Bethany Hoelscher and Danielle Taflinger contributed 13 and 11 kills, respectively.

VonIns also tallied 18 assists and ten digs while Erin Thomasson registered nine kills and 11 digs.

Megan Florence helped jump start the offense with 30 assists and also contributed 11 digs.

The Oilers will be back in action again on October 31 when they face Lake Erie College at 2pm in Painesville, Ohio.
