Lakers knock off Oilers 3-2

The University of Findlay volleyball team fell 3-2 (25-21, 22-25, 25-13, 23-25, 14-16) against #20 Grand Valley State University on Saturday, September 24 in Allendale, Michigan. With the loss, the Oilers drop to 3-8 this season with a 1-6 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). The GVSU Lakers improve to 4-3 mark in the conference with a 7-4 record overall.

Findlay's Mackenzie Vorst paced the Oilers offense with 21 kills. Jessica VonIns and Danielle Taflinger both chipped in with 12 kills with VonIns producing 36 assists.

Jacqui Endre had the second most digs in a game in school history with 34 in the contest. Teammate Andrea Holthaus generated five blocks in the loss.

The University of Findlay volleyball team will return to action on Sunday, September 25 against GLIAC rival Saginaw Valley State University in University Center, Michigan. The contest is slated for 2 p.m.
