Oilers Defeat Huskies 3-1

The University of Findlay volleyball team knocked off Michigan Tech 3-1 (25-17, 25-21, 23-25, 25-21) on Sunday, November 6, in Houghton, Michigan. With the victory, the Oilers cap off the 2011 campaign with a 9-10 mark in the GLIAC and 15-12 overall.

Freshman Samantha Granger sparked the Findlay offense with 16 kills. Jessica VonIns generated 30 assists while teammate Amanda Calhoun chipped in with 17 assists.

Jacqui Endre and Brittany Hall had 15 and 13 digs, respectively. Danielle Taflinger guarded the net with seven blocks, as both Calhoun and Mackenzie Vorst had two blocks each.

The Oilers established a .203 hitting percent with 12.30 kills per set this season. The University of Findlay volleyball team went 10-1 in their last 11 games of the 2011 campaign.
