Volleyball Inks 5

The University of Findlay volleyball program announced the signing of five student-athletes in the early signing period who will compete for the Oilers during the 2012 season.

Courtney Rolf, Julie Lyons, Olivia Zimmerman, Rebecca Shoemaker and Shelby Reindel make up the class and will continue their playing careers under head coach Wick Colchagoff.

Rolf, a 5'11 right side hitter from Pemberville, Ohio and Eastwood High School, was named the Northern Buckeye Conference Player of the Year as well as the District 7 Player of the Year as a senior.  She was a three-time, first team all-district pick and earned honorable mention all-Ohio accolades in 2011.

Lyons, a 6'1 middle blocker from Dover High School in Dover, Ohio, was a three-time District 5 pick during her career.  She earned third team all-Ohio honors as a senior and was twice voted first team all-East Central Ohio League.

Zimmerman, a 5'10 setter from East Aurora High School in East Aurora, New York, was named first team all-Erie County Interscholastic Conference in 2011.

Shoemaker, a 5'4 defensive specialist from Eden, New York and Eden High School, earned first team all-Erie County Interscholastic Conference honors in 2011 and helped her squad to three state titles during her tenure.

Reindel, a 5'11 outside hitter from Delphos St. John's High School in Delphos, Ohio, was a two-time all-Midwest Athletic Conference pick.  The sister of current Oilers' player Lindsy Reindel, Shelby was also voted second team all-district twice during her career.
