Volleyball Volunteers at Challenged Champions Equestrian Center

The University of Findlay volleyball team volunteered at Challenged Champions Equestrian Center this year during their preseason. Challenged Champions is a center to support individuals with special needs from early childhood through adulthood located in Ottawa, Ohio. Opportunities are provided through horse related activities that promote physical, emotional and mental development. Our student-athletes helped out by cleaning barns and giving a couple horses baths.

"It means a lot that the girls came out to volunteer," said Amanda Lever, class instructor at Challenged Champions.  "There so much work that goes into this program as far as our classes, students, fundraising, upkeep with the barns, caring for the horses and so much more.  We really appreciated all their help."

The Oilers volleyball team also volunteered with Campfire girls by helping them set up for their summer carnival this year.

"We strive to help our student-athletes to not only excel in the classroom and on the court, but to learn what it means to be contributing member to the community," said head coach Wick Colchagoff.

The athletes enjoyed all their community service this year and look forward to helping out more in the future.
