The University of Findlay volleyball team defeated Lake Superior State University by a score of 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-13) on Friday, September 21 in Croy Gymnasium. The win moves the Oilers record to 5-6 on the year with a mark of 2-2 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action.

Junior Mackenzie Vorst led the Oilers offense with 18 kills while junior Danielle Taflinger added ten kills.

Vorst hit .400 for the match while Taflinger was at .381.

Sophomore Amanda Calhoun recorded 38 assists in the contest, freshman Becca Shoemaker tallied 13 digs and teammate senior Andrea Holthaus generated eight blocks for Findlay.

As a team, the Oilers generated 45 kills and hit .318 during the victory.

The Lakers meanwhile had 24 hitting errors and hit -.063 in the match.

The Oilers return to action tomorrow, September 22, to host Saginaw Valley State University. The match is slated for 2 p.m.
