Oilers Volleyball Has 14 Home Matches in 2013

The University of Findlay volleyball team, who finished last season with a 14-17 record, will have 14 home matches during the 2013 campaign.

The Oilers will open the season in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. at the Shark Classic for a four-match set on Sep. 6-7.  The Oilers will play Sioux Falls University and Lynn University on Sep. 6 and then face Nova Southeastern University and Rollins College on Sep. 7.

After their trip to begin the year, the Oilers will return home to host the TownePlace Suites Classic on Sep. 12-14.  The Oilers will begin the tournament by hosting Rockhurst University on Sep. 12 at 7:30 p.m. before playing the University of Southern Indiana on Sep. 13 at 7:30 p.m.  They will then face Mercyhurst College (11 a.m.) and Indiana University of Pennsylvania (7 p.m.) on Sep. 14.

Once the tournament concludes, the Oilers will remain at home to face the College of Mt. St. Joseph on Sep. 17 at 7:30 p.m. before they open Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on the road at Ashland University on Sep. 20 at 7:30 p.m.

The Oilers will remain on the road for their next three matches as they will face Lake Erie College on Sep. 21 (6 p.m.), Lake Superior State University on Sep. 27 (7 p.m.) and Saginaw Valley State University on Sep. 28 (2 p.m.).

The month of October begins with a five straight home matches against Wayne State University, Michigan Technological University, Northern Michigan University, Northwood University and Hillsdale College.  The Oilers will play the Warriors on Oct. 1 (7:30 p.m.), face the Huskies on Oct. 4 (7:30 p.m.), take on the Wildcats on Oct. 5 (2 p.m.), host the Timberwolves on Oct. 11 (7:30 p.m.) and tackle the Chargers on Oct. 12 (2 p.m.).

On Oct. 18, the Oilers will travel to Ferris State University for a match beginning at 7 p.m. before they cruise over to Grand Valley State University on Oct. 19 for a 4 p.m. contest.  They will then hop on a bus to head to Aurora, Ill. where they will take part in the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover, which runs from Oct. 25-26.

Upon returning home from the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover, the Oilers will host Tiffin University on Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Ohio Dominican University on Nov. 2 at 2 p.m.  They will then head to Wayne State University on Nov. 5 for a 7 p.m. match before facing Walsh University on the road at 7 p.m. on Nov. 8.  The team will remain on the road for on Nov. 9, playing against Malone University (1 p.m.) and Wheeling Jesuit University (3:30 p.m.) in Canton, Ohio.

The Oilers will close the regular season with home matches against Lake Erie College and Ashland University.  They will host the Storm on Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. and then face the Eagles on Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. before the 2013 GLIAC Tournament begins.

The 2013 GLIAC Tournament is slated to begin on Nov. 20 and conclude on Nov. 24.
