Oilers Suffer 3-2 Loss at Home to Warriors

The University of Findlay volleyball team suffered a 3-2 (19-25, 28-26, 25-16, 21-25, 9-15) loss at home against Wayne State University on Tuesday, Oct. 1.  The loss gives the Oilers a 10-4 record on the season with a 3-2 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Senior Mackenzie Vorst recorded 25 kills in the loss, the seventh highest single match total in school history.

Vorst hit .538 for the match and also added three blocks and three digs.

Senior Danielle Taflinger chipped in nine kills and nine blocks while sophomore Julie Lyons had nine kills in the match as well.

Junior Amanda Calhoun had seven kills, six digs and 51 assists.

Sophomore Andrea Roach added six kills while junior Lindsy Reindel chipped in four.

The Oilers will return to Croy Gymnasium on Friday, Oct. 4 to face Michigan Technological University at 7:30 p.m.
