Taflinger Named GLIAC Player of the Week

Senior Danielle Taflinger of the Oilers volleyball team was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Player of the Week for her performances in a pair of wins last weekend against Tiffin and Ohio Dominican.

Taflinger started the weekend by accumulating 14 kills and 12 blocks in the Oilers 3-2 win over Tiffin on Nov. 1.  She hit .565 for the match and her 12 total blocks was the third highest single match total in school history.

The Lima, Ohio native continued her strong play in the Oilers 3-1 win over Ohio Dominican on Nov. 2 by racking up 15 kills.  She hit .789 during the victory, the second highest single match hitting percentage in school history.

Taflinger has 212 kills on the season and leads the league with a .346 hitting percentage.  She also leads the team and is third in the GLIAC in total blocks with 91 on the season.
