Oilers Swept by Wheeling Jesuit

The University of Findlay volleyball team was defeated in their second game of the day on November 9 vs. Wheeling Jesuit in Canton, OH by a score of 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-21) dropping the Oilers record to 19-10 and ending their streak of seven straight wins.

Senior Mackenzie Vorst completed a solid day offensively as she had 11 kills while hitting .476 and also had a block.

Another offensive key for Findlay was Hannah Tong who collected 12 kills in the loss. The freshman had the only ace of the match for the Oilers.

Senior Danielle Taflinger and junior Amanda Calhoun added six and four kills, respectively. Calhoun also contributed 28 assists, six digs, and two blocks.

Leading the defense for Findlay was junior Samantha Granger and senior Brittany Hall. Granger had 13 digs and Hall collected 10.

Freshman Mallorie Kah was key at the net as she picked up three blocks.

The Oilers return to action this Friday, November 15 in Croy Gymnasium to play Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponenet Lake Erie in a match slated to begin at 7:30.
