The University of Findlay volleyball team won in convincing fashion Friday, November 15 by a final of 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-13) over Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Lake Erie College.

The win pushed the Oilers to 20-10 (11-6 in GLIAC play) on the season, the first time since 2006 they reached the 20-win plateau.

Leading the offense for the Oilers was senior Danielle Taflinger who posted nine kills and hit a scorching .571 in the win. The middle blocker also added seven blocks to cap her stellar night.

Contributing seven kills each were senior Mackenzie Vorst and junior Amanda Calhoun. Calhoun was key for Findlay as she added 29 assists and five digs.

Sophomore Julie Lyons had a good match as she had six kills.

Gathering five kills and three blocks in a do-it-all role was freshman Hannah Tong.

The defensive key for the Oilers was Brittany Hall. The senior picked up six digs in the victory.

Junior Samantha Granger was hot from the service line as she picked up a season high seven aces.

The Oilers are back at it tomorrow night, November 15, at 7:30pm for a battle of the top GLIAC South teams as they welcome the Eagles of Ashland University for the final regular season match.
