Oilers to Play NMU in 1st Round

The University of Findlay volleyball team will travel to Marquette, Mich. to take on Northern Michigan University in the first round of the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament.

Earlier this Season

The Oilers and Wildcats will play their quarterfinal game at 7 p.m. against the Wildcats, who defeated Findlay by a score of 3-0 early this year in Croy Gymnasium.

The Wildcats came away with their victory against the Oilers on Oct. 5 behind ten kills from Lina Lopes.

Senior Danielle Taflinger led the Oilers with nine kills while fellow senior Mackenzie Vorst had eight.

Recent GLIAC Tournament History

The Oilers qualified for the GLIAC Tournament last season, but were eliminated by Northwood University in the first round.

Winning 20

Findlay has recorded a 20-11 record this season, their first 20-win campaign since the 2006 season.

Taflinger currently leads the conference with a .348 hitting percentage and ranks third in the GLIAC with 113 total blocks.

Vorst ranks tenth in the conference with 304 kills.

Taflinger ranks eighth all-time at UF with 1,108 kills while Vorst checks in tenth with 963 kills.
