Taflinger Named 1st Team All-GLIAC

2013 All-GLIAC Teams

Senior middle blocker Danielle Taflinger was named first team all-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) for the second consecutive season as the league office unveiled their yearly awards on Nov. 23.

Taflinger led the GLIAC with a .344 hitting percentage and also registered 271 kills and 117 total blocks.  The Lima, Ohio native ends her Findlay career as the all-time leader in hitting percentage at .347 and also ranks fourth all-time in blocks (400) and eighth all-time in kills (1,118).

In addition, senior outside hitter Mackenzie Vorst picked up second team all-conference accolades after leading the team with 317 kills.  The Columbus Grove, Ohio native also recorded 117 digs and 47 blocks and ends her career ranked tenth all-time at Findlay with 976 kills.

Junior Amanda Calhoun also earned recognition for her play on the court during the 2013 campaign as she was voted honorable mention all-conference after posting 1,087 assists, 209 digs, 132 kills and 59 blocks.

The Oilers finished with a 20-12 record this season, the first time they topped the 20-win plateau since the 2006 campaign when they went 22-8.
