Taflinger Named All-American for 2nd Time

Senior middle blocker Danielle Taflinger earned honorable mention NCAA Division II All-American honors for the second consecutive year as the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced their annual awards on Dec. 11.

Taflinger, who became the Oilers first volleyball player to earn NCAA DII All-American status last season, was a first team all-region and first team all-conference pick during her final year with the team.  She was also a first team all-conference and all-region pick during her junior year as well.

The Lima, Ohio native led the GLIAC with a .344 hitting percentage and also registered 271 kills and 117 total blocks in 2013. She ends her career as the all-time leader in hitting percentage at .347 and also ranks fourth all-time in blocks (400) and eighth all-time in kills (1,118) at UF.
