Findlay Beats Northwest Missouri State in 4 Sets

The University of Findlay volleyball team won the nightcap of their two-match day on Friday, September 5 by a final of 3-1 (25-23, 25-21, 18-25, 25-19) vs. Northwest Missouri State and improved their record to 2-1 on the season.

Stepping up in a big way for the Oilers was redshirt freshman Nickyla Garverick. The middle blocker smacked 10 kills and collected eight blocks in the victory. Also amassing double-digit kills was sophomore standout Hannah Tong who finished with 10. She also picked up five blocks. Sophomore Andrea Roach was also a dual-threat as she had seven kills and four blocks.

Senior Amanda Calhoun was a dual threat in a different way as she garnered 32 assists and 10 digs. Also picking up double-digit digs were junior Becca Shoemaker, freshman Erika Roach, and freshman Madelyn McCabe who finished with 12, 11, and 10 digs, respectively. E. Roach also had eight kills for the Oilers.

Senior Samantha Granger served well as she beat NWMSU for three aces.

Findlay continues their trip in Missouri and will play again tomorrow morning at 9:30am vs. the Gorillas of Pittsburgh State.
