Oilers to Host Chargers on Tuesday

The University of Findlay volleyball team will host Hillsdale College on Oct. 28. The Oilers and Chargers will begin play at 7:30 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.

The University of Findlay will video webcast all of their home volleyball games on the internet.  The Oilers will also provide live stats for their games as well. The links are listed below:

Last Time

The Chargers swept the Oilers earlier this season by a score of 3-0 (25-23, 25-12, 25-13).

Sophomore Hannah Tong led the way with nine kills while junior Becca Shoemaker recorded 13 digs.

Jordan Denmark led the Chargers with 11 kills while Haylee Booms had nine.

The Oilers

The Oilers are 15-6 on the season with an 10-3 record in conference play. They are leading the South Division of the GLIAC and have been led by sophomore Hannah Tong, who leads the league with 3.46 kills per set.

Tong has been named the GLIAC South Division Player of the Week twice this season and has accumulated 277 kills.

Senior Amanda Calhoun leads the conference in aces with 45 and ranks second in the GLIAC with 757 assists.

Red-shirt freshman Nickyla Garverick leads the GLIAC in total blocks with 95 and is ranked second in the league in hitting percentage at .305.

As a team, the Oilers have won four straight matches.  They lead the league in aces (154) and total blocks (185) while ranking second in hitting percentage (.215).

Findlay has also posted a 7-3 record in their last ten matches of the season.

The Chargers

The Chargers are 9-11 on the season with a 7-6 record in conference play.  Emily Wolfert leads a balanced offensive attack with 192 kills.

Haylee Booms (162), Jordan Denmark (159), Erin Holsinger (122) and Lindsay Kostrzewa (111) have all reached triple digits in kills this season as well.

The Chargers have a 3-7 record in their last ten matches of the year.
