Volleyball Remains 10th in Midwest Region

The University of Findlay volleyball team is ranked tenth in the latest NCAA Division II Midwest Region rankings, which were released on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

The Oilers, who have already wrapped up their first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division title since 2003, are 20-6 on the season. It is their second straight 20-win campaign.

Findlay is looking for their first trip to the NCAA Division II National Tournament since 2003.  The Oilers earned the four-seed that season, but were upended by Northern Kentucky in the first round.

The top eight teams in the poll at the end of the season will earn the right to compete in the NCAA Division II National Tournament.  The top-seed in the Midwest Region at the end of the year will host the first three rounds of the tourney.

The Oilers will close their regular season on the road at Lake Erie and Ashland this weekend. The Oilers and Storm will face each other at 7 p.m. on Friday in Painesville, Ohio before the Oilers battle the Eagles on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Ashland, Ohio.
