Volleyball Prepares for GLIAC Semis
The UF volleyball team will compete in the semifinals of the 2014 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 15 in Allendale, Mich. The 3-seeded Oilers will face 2-seeded Ferris State University at 6:30 p.m. The finals of the tournament will then take place on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 4 p.m. in Allendale, Mich.

Regional Rankings
The Oilers are ranked eighth in the latest NCAA Division II Midwest Region rankings, which were released on Nov. 12.
Findlay is looking for their first trip to the NCAA Division II National Tournament since 2003. The Oilers earned the four-seed that season, but were upended by Northern Kentucky in the first round.
The top eight teams in the poll at the end of the season will earn the right to compete in the NCAA Division II National Tournament. The top-seed in the Midwest Region at the end of the year will host the first three rounds of the tourney.
The Oilers
The Oilers have won 12 straight matches and are 23-6 on the year. They captured their first GLIAC South Division title since 2003 and earned the three-seed in the 2014 GLIAC Tournament.
Sophomore Hannah Tong has led the Oilers thus far and leads the GLIAC in kills with 385 this season. She ranks second in the GLIAC with 3.60 kills per set and has also recorded 58 blocks during the 2014 campaign.
Senior Amanda Calhoun has had a great season for Findlay as well. She is currently the GLIAC-leader in assists (1,084) and aces (62). She has also registered 189 digs, 71 kills and 55 blocks from her setter position.
Red-shirt freshman Nickyla Garverick leads the GLIAC in blocks with 133 and has also accumulated 260 kills. Her .301 hitting percentage is the third best mark in the league.
The Oilers also have a number of players who have recorded over 150 kills on the year as junior Andrea Roach (194), freshman Erika Roach (168) and junior Julie Lyons (162) have topped that plateau. Lyons has also been the Oilers second best blocker at the net with 87 total blocks during the 2014 season.
Junior Becca Shoemaker has paced the defense and leads the team with 410 digs. Freshman Madelyn McCabe (174) and senior Samantha Granger (165) have also been stout on the defensive side of the net.
