Volleyball Signs Duncan and Scherger

The University of Findlay volleyball program added Allyson Duncan and Kara Scherger during the November signing period.  Both players will be eligible to compete for the Oilers during the 2015 season.

Duncan, a 6'0 outside hitter from Springfield, Ohio, has earned first team all-Ohio honors in each of the past two seasons for Catholic Central High School.  She was tabbed the District 9 Player of the Year as a senior and also earned Ohio Heritage Conference Player of the Year accolades as a junior and senior.  Duncan was a four-time all-conference pick and four-time all-district pick as well.

"Ally will add to our depth on the outside and will battle for playing time right away," said head coach Wick Colchoagoff.

Scherger, a 5'6 libero from New Riegel, Ohio, capped her career with an overall record of 96-8.  She earned all-Ohio honors four times during her career, which includes being named first team in each of the past two years. She was also the District 6 Player of the Year as a senior and earned all-conference accolades four times during her career.

"Kara is a proven winner and will greatly enhance our ball control and defense."

The Oilers finished the 2014 season as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division champions. They reached the semifinals of the GLIAC Tournament for only the second time in school history and concluded the year with a 23-7 record.
