Oilers Sweep Mountain Cats
The University of Findlay volleyball team came away with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-18) over Pitt-Johnstown on Sep. 11 at the TownePlace Suites Classic in Croy Gymnasium. The victory gives the Oilers a 4-2 record on the season.
Junior Hannah Tong led the team with 13 kills while sophomore Nickyla Garverick totaled nine kills and six blocks.
Freshman Amanda Winner had another solid match with eight kills and a team-high 11 digs while seniors Julie Lyons and Andrea Roach accumulated six and five kills, respectively.
Freshman Hailee Olson recorded 35 assists and seven digs as well for Findlay.
The Oilers hit .371 in the match as a team and had eight aces.
The Oilers will be back in action tomorrow for the final day of the TownePlace Suites Classic. They will play Mercyhurst at 1 p.m. and Cedarville at 7 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
