The University of Findlay volleyball team traveled to Big Rapids, Mich. to take on #3 Ferris State University on Friday, Oct. 23. The Oilers fell to the Bulldogs 3-0 (17-25, 20-25, 15-25). The loss moves Findlay to 15-6 on the season and 8-2 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
Freshman Amanda Winner led the way for the Oilers with nine kills and four digs. Junior Hannah Tong contributed with eight kills.
Sophomore Nickyla Garverick led Findlay with two blocks, while also adding five kills.
Freshman Hailee Olson orchestrated the offense with 21 assists and senior Becca Shoemaker led the defense with 14 digs.
The Oilers return to action Saturday, Oct. 24 as they continue their road trip to #24 Grand Valley State. The match is scheduled to begin at 4pm.
