The University of Findlay volleyball made it back-to-back sweeps with a Halloween Day victory over Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponent, Ohio Dominican University. The Oilers through the three-set win (25-15, 25-14, 25-18) and improved their record to 18-6 overall and 11-2 in GLIAC play. That record is tied for the best in the GLIAC South Division.

Findlay continued their hot hand as they hit .412 in the match, including a scorching .654 in the first set, tallying 51 kills on 97 attacks. The service game was also a strong point as the Oilers torched the Panthers for 11 aces.

Leading the attack was freshman Amanda Winner who added to her season total as she was able to smash 17 kills in the sweep. Senior Julie Lyons and junior Hannah Tong each played well as they picked up 11 each. Lyons, who leads the GLIAC in hitting percentage at .401, continued her stellar play, hitting .625 in the win. Picking up eight kills and improving her .378 hitting percentage by hitting .438 was sophomore Nickyla Garverick.

Freshman Hailee Olson became the first GLIAC player this season to eclipse the thousand assist mark as she picked up another 46 assists. She now sits at 1,031 assists this year, which leads the GLIAC's next best by more than one hundred.

Leading the defense was the play of freshman Kara Scherger, senior Becca Shoemaker, and sophomore Madelyn McCabe. They tallied 12, nine, and eight digs, respectively. Shoemaker also led the team with four aces.

The Oilers will be back on the court on Tuesday, November 3 when they travel to Hillsdale College. That match will begin at 7pm.
