Oilers Continue to Receive Votes in National Poll

AVCA NCAA DII National Poll

The University of Findlay volleyball team continues to receive votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCAA Division II National Poll. The Oilers received 31 votes in the latest poll, which was released on Nov. 2. The vote total ranks them 29th in the nation.

The Oilers are 18-6 on the year with an 11-2 record in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play. They lead the GLIAC and are ranked sixth in the nation in hitting percentage at .285. Senior Julie Lyons leads the conference and is ranked sixth nationally with a .411 hitting percentage. Teammate Nickyla Garverick, a sophomore, ranks second in the league and 13th in the nation with a .381 hitting percentage as well.

Freshman Hailee Olson leads the conference in assists per set at 11.85, which is also the eighth best mark in the nation while junior Hannah Tong is second in the GLIAC with a total of 338 kills.
