Junior outside hitter Hannah Tong has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Player of the Week on Nov. 16.

Tong led the Oilers to three wins, including a 3-1 win over 6th-ranked Wheeling Jesuit on Nov. 11 in which she recorded 18 kills. In those three games, Tong tallied 46 kills with a hitting percentage of .365, highlighted by a 15 kill, .444 performance in a 3-2 win over Ashland that earned the Oilers a GLIAC South title. The outside hitter also picked up 11 blocks in the three-match span.

In the Ashland match, Tong recorded her 1,000th career kill in the fourth set, making her just the ninth player in Oilers history to accomplish that feat. She currently sits at 1,003 kills.

This is the fifth time in Tong's career that she has earned GLIAC South Player of the Week.
