Oilers Fall in GLIAC Championship Match 3-0

In the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament Championship match, The University of Findlay volleyball team came up short against #3 Ferris State University on Sunday, Nov. 22 in Big Rapids, Mich., as they fell 3-0 (18-25, 17-25, 25-27).

Freshman Amanda Winner led the way offensively with 12 kills.  Senior Julie Lyons and junior Hannah Tong added seven kills apiece.

Sophomore Nickyla Garverick led the Oilers with two blocks and also recorded eight kills.

Freshman Hailee Olson had 28 assists and senior Becca Shoemaker led the defense with 18 digs.

Tong and Shoemaker were rewarded for their effortsi in the GLIAC Tournament as each player earned all-tourney accolades.

The Oilers are now 25-8 on the year.  They will wait until tomorrow for the NCAA selection show to see if they have qualified for the NCAA Tournament.  They have not been selected to compete in the event since 2003.
