Oilers Earn First Win of Season

On Sat., Sep. 3, The University of Findlay volleyball team picked up their first victory of the season in their final game at the Hampton Inn Invitational in Pensacola, Fla. as they defeated Carson-Newman University 3-0 (28-26, 25-13, 25-18).  The Oilers stand at 1-3 on the season.

Leading the way for Findlay was sophomore Amanda Winner who finished with 13 kills.  Senior Hannah Tong contributed with 11 kills, while ending the match with a .478 kill percentage.

The task of distributing the ball was handled by sophomore Hailee Olson who finished with 29 assists.  Freshman Molly Hammersmith led the team with two serving aces.

Defensively, sophomore Kara Scherger directed the defense with 17 digs and senior Mallorie Kah controlled the net with four block assists.

The Oilers return to the court on Fri., Sep. 9 when they host Clarion University in Croy Gymnasium at 10 a.m.
