Oilers to Open GLIAC Play at Home

The Oilers will host Ashland and Tiffin this week in Croy Gymnasium. The Oilers will welcome the Eagles to town on Sep. 16 for their first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) contest of the year at 7 pm before the Dragons come to Croy on Sep. 17 for a 2 pm match.

Findlay

The Oilers are 4-3 on the season and winners of four straight matches. They recently went 3-0 at the TownePlace Suites Classic without losing a set in matches against Clarion, Pitt-Johnstown and Malone. Seniro Hannah Tong was named the Tournament MVP while junior Nickyla Garverick also earned all-tournament honors. Sophomore Kara Scherger was also rewarded for her stellar play and was tabbed the Outstanding Libero.

Sophomore Amanda Winner has paced the squad with 91 kills and is also ranked second on the team with 43 digs. Her 12 aces is also a team-best.

Tong has registered 88 kills and is hitting .330 on the year while Garverick has smashed 60 kills to go along with a team-high .407 hitting percentage and 25 total blocks.

Sophomore Hailee Olson makes the offense go and has recorded a team-best 250 assists. She also has 25 digs and 11 blocks.

Scherger has a team-high 98 digs and ranks second on the team with seven aces through the first seven matches.

The Eagles are 6-3 on the season and have been led by Alli Cudworth, who has accumulated 141 kills.

Casey Clark and Jordan Mackay have also played well with 91 and 70 kills, respectively, while Kayla Pfeiffer has racked up 340 assists and 69 digs.

The Dragons are 6-2 on the season and have won four straight matches. They have been led by Jenna Huffman, who has produced 81 kills and 29 total blocks. She is also hitting .493 on the year.

Olivia Cobb has recorded 65 kills and 47 digs while Emily Weithman has registered 257 assists and 52 digs.
