Oilers on Five Game Win Streak

On Friday, September 16, The University of Findlay volleyball team began league play with a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) showdown with the Eagles of Ashland University.  The Oilers proved to be the dominant team with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 29-27) victory to improve to 5-3 on the season and 1-0 in the GLIAC.

Senior Hannah Tong continued to pave the way offensively for the Oilers.  She finished the match with 17 kills.  Sophomore Amanda Winner had a well rounded game for Findlay.  She recorded 10 kills and 11 digs.

Sophomore Hailee Olson was the floor general for Findlay, as she compiled 40 assists in the game.  Sophomore Kara Scherger and senior Mallorie Kah anchored the Oilers defensively.  Scherger led the team with 13 digs and Kah controlled the net with seven block assists.

The Oilers continue GLIAC play on Saturday, September 17, as they host Tiffin University in Croy Gymnasium.  The match is schedule to start at 2 p.m.
