Oilers Tame Dragons

On Saturday, September 17, The University of Findlay volleyball team extending their winning streak to six games with a 3-2 (25-21, 25-18, 21-25, 17-25, 15-8) victory over Tiffin University.  The win moves Findlay to 6-3 on the season and 2-0 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers used a balanced offensive attack to defeat Tiffin.  Sophomore Hailee Olson distributed the ball all around for Findlay, while accumulating 52 assists in the match.  Her go to target was senior Hannah Tong, who led the Oilers with 19 kills.

Sophomore Amanda Winner had a well-rounded performance for Findlay.  She finished the match with 17 kills, 14 digs, and four serving aces.  Freshman Molly Hammersmith and junior Nickyla Garverick helped balance the attack with and 11 and 10 kills respectively.

Sophomore Kara Scherger led the defensive efforts with a team high 19 digs and Garverick pitched by leading the team with three blocks

The Oilers return to the court with a break in league play with a non-conference matchup at Cedarville University on Tuesday, September 20 with a start time of 7:00 p.m.
