Oilers Prep for Crossover
The Oilers will take part in the Mizuno Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover Tournament on Oct. 14-15 in Aurora, Ill. The Oilers will play McKendree, Missouri-St. Louis and Drury at the event, which will feature 54 matches conducted on nine courts.
Mizuno Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover
The Crossover consists of nine matches happening simultaneously in each of three sessions over the two-day event. The conference that boasts the best combined record at the end of the event will earn the Crossover traveling trophy, which has been in the GLVC's possession the past six years. The GLIAC claimed the event's first title in 2008 with a 27-12 record, only to retain it the following year with a 24-21 mark. In 2010, the GLVC earned its first Crossover win with a 23-22 effort only to take the next two seasons in 2011 (29-19) and 2012 (28-20). In 2013, the two conferences tied 24-24, but the GLVC earned the event win based on a game record tiebreak. The 2014 action, the GLVC controlled play throughout to keep the trophy by a 37-11 margin. Last year, the GLVC racked up a 28-20 record to capture the trophy ahead of the GLIAC's 24-24 mark.
Wayne State (15-2, 8-1 GLIAC) is the GLIAC's No. 1 seed, while Findlay (12-5, 8-1 GLIAC) enters as the No. 2 seed from the GLIAC.

Findlay
Findlay has a 12-5 record on the year with an 8-1 mark in GLIAC play. They have been paced by Hannah Tong and Amanda Winner, who have totaled 241 and 218 kills, respectively.
Tong is hitting .305 on the year while Winner has stuffed the stat sheet with 129 digs, 40 aces and 14 blocks.
Nickyla Garverick has recorded 144 kills and 52 blocks while hitting .384 and Hailee Olson has produced 654 assists.
Mallorie Kah has registered a team-high 67 blocks and Kara Scherger has a team-best 288 digs.
McKendree
McKendree is 13-5 on the year with an 8-1 record in the GLVC. They have been led by Arela Williams and her 242 kills.
Allison Schneider (188), Sophie Fairman (164) and Amanda Geiger (133) have also topped 100 kills as well.
Missouri-St. Louis
Missouri-St. Louis is 11-5 on the season with a 6-3 mark in league competition. They have been led by Selena Nolte, who has recorded 152 kills and 49 blocks.
Lexi Rogers is second on the team with 125 kills and has also added 54 blocks.
Drury
Drury is 12-6 on the year with a 6-3 record in conference play. They have been led by Brooke Antenen and Bentley Mara, who have recorded 193 and 176 kills, respectively.
Antenen is a jack of all trades and has also accumulated 446 assists, 178 digs, 37 blocks and 31 aces while McKenna Poynter has registered 378 digs.
