Hannah Tong Named GLIAC Player of the Week

Findlay, OH – Outside hitter Hannah Tong was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division Player of the Week on Monday, October 17 following her performance at the weekend's Midwest Region Crossover in Aurora, Illinois.

Findlay, which was the highest seeded team at the 36-team event to finish with a perfect 3-0 record, was led by the efforts of their senior from Carey, Ohio. Tong smashed 57 kills in three matches, more than any other player at the event, including a season-high 24 kills in a five-set win over McKendree. She had a hitting percentage of .366 for the tournament while putting away 4.34 kills per set. Tong also threw in one solo block and six assisted blocks to give her 61.0 points for the event, fifth most of all participating players.

Tong is now second in the GLIAC with 4.08 kills per set, third with 298 kills, and eighth with a .315 hitting percentage. She has 1,381 kills in her time at Findlay which is good for fifth all-time.

It is the fifth time in Tong's career that she has earned Player of the Week honors and is the third time this season that an Oilers player has garnered the award.
