Top-10 Individual Performances | #1 Hannah Tong
The 2016-17 athletic year was another successful one for the Oilers, who saw a plethora of individual athletes achieve outstanding accomplishments. The UF athletic media relations staff has put together a list of the top-10 individual performances from the 2016-17 campaign and will be revealing them during the summer months.
#1 | Hannah Tong | Volleyball
Hannah Tong capped a brilliant career by becoming the first Oilers volleyball player to be named first team all-American at the NCAA Division II level by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
Tong, who was named the 2016 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Attacker of the Year, earned first team all-conference and all-region honors during her final season with the Oilers. She was also selected as the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Midwest Region Player of the Year and led the Oilers to their third straight GLIAC South Division title.
The Carey, Ohio native finished second in the GLIAC with 480 kills and also ranked second in the conference with 4.14 kills per set. Her .294 hitting percentage was the seventh-best total in the conference and she also added 72 blocks.
Outside of her achievements on the court, Tong was a Capital one Academic All-District 4 selection and earned the GLIAC Fall Commissioner's Award for her work in the classroom.
Tong wrapped up her career as one of the best players in school history. A list of her career accomplishments is below:
