The University of Findlay volleyball team started off the season with a pair of wins on September 1 at the Hillsdale Tournament. They began the day with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-12) win against Saginaw Valley State and also added a 3-0 (25-13, 25-23, 25-14) victory over Glenville State.

The Oilers hit .322 in their match against Saginaw Valley State and received eight kills each from junior Amanda Winner and sophomore Shelby Kin. Winner added four digs while Kin hit .471.

Sophomore Molly Hammersmith contributed seven kills while junior Hailee Olson had 28 assists and five digs.

Defensively, junior Kara Scherger led the team with 13 digs.

Winner once again led the Oilers in their victory over Glenville State with a double-double. She recorded 12 kills and added 11 digs in the win.

Kin contributed six kills while sophomore Izzy Murphy tallied six kills as well.

Olson recorded 30 assists and Scherger had 11 digs in the win.

The Oilers, who are now 2-0 on the season, will be back in action tomorrow against Michigan Tech and Indianapolis.
