The University of Findlay volleyball team finished up the Hillsdale Tournament with two more wins on Sep. 2. They started the day with a 3-2 (25-18, 27-25, 18-25, 24-26, 15-12) victory over Michigan Tech and then closed with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-12, 22-25, 25-15) win against Indianapolis.

In their win over Michigan Tech to start the day, junior Amanda Winner had a huge match with 20 kills and 15 digs. Senior Erika Roach also recorded a double-double in the victory as she posted 11 kills and 11 digs.

Sophomore Molly Hammersmith reached double figures in kills with 11 while junior Kara Scherger led the defense with 22 digs.

Junior Hailee Olson posted 52 assists, six digs, three blocks and two kills, sophomore Izzy Murphy had seven kills, and sophomore Jenna Delarber was a force at the net and ended the match with four kills and five blocks.

In the win against Indianapolis, Winner once again paced the team with 19 kills and also added seven digs and two aces.

Murphy reached double figures in kills with 12 while Hammersmith pounded 11 kills.

Olson recorded 43 assists and nine digs while Scherger posted 28 digs, the fourth-best single-match total in school history.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Sep. 8 when they travel to Erie, Pa. to battle Mercyhurst at 5pm.
